VISA requirements
It is the traveler's responsibility to obtain the necessary passport and visa for entry to Taiwan.

Airport Information
Tainan is served by Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport, both connected with cities all over the world.

How to travel to Tainan from Taipei or Kaohsiung into the city
The venue, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, is located in the south part of Taiwan. Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) runs regularly between Taipei (the capital) and Tainan. It takes approximately 2 hours travelling between Taipei/Taoyuan International Airport and Tainan THSR station. Passengers can take the railway from Tainan THSR station to Tainan railway station (about 30 min). NCKU is next to Tainan railway station.

From Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
1. Take Kaohsiung MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from the Airport Station (R4) to Kaohsiung Main Station (R11) for TRA (Taiwan Railways) Train.
2. Take TRA from Kaohsiung Main Station to Tainan TRA Station (35 minutes on express trains). NCKU and Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel are next to Tainan TRA station.
 
From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
1. Take Taoyuan MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from the Airport Stations (either A12 or A13) to Taoyuan THSR (Taiwan High Speed Rail) station (A18). MRT map: https://www.tymetro.com.tw/tymetro-new/en/_pages/travel-guide/road.html
2. Take the THSR train from Taoyuan Station to Tainan THSR Station.
3. Take TRA (Taiwan Railways) from Tainan THSR station to Tainan TRA station (about 25 min). NCKU and Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel are next to Tainan TRA station.

Tipping in Taiwan is generally not expected..

Currency
The Taiwanese Dollar is the official currency of Taiwan and its ISO code is TWD, although it is often abbreviated to NT$.

Electric Power Plugs and Voltage
Taiwan has the same electrical standard as the US and Canada: 110V, 60Hz AC. Electrical sockets have two vertical slots. If you bring appliances from Europe, Australia or Southeast Asia, you'll need an adaptor or transformer.

Presentation Instructions for Speakers and Posters
• Keynote presentations will be 40 minutes, including time for questions
• Invited Oral presentations will be 30 minutes, including time for questions
• Oral presentations will be 20 minutes, including time for questions
• Poster presentation size: 90-cm wide × 150-cm high (The A0 portrait format (84.1-cm wide × 118.9-cm high) is recommended for the posters).
• Presentations must be set up prior to the beginning of the session
• Preferred: Bring your presentation on a memory stick compatible with a PC computer

Alternatively: Personal laptop computers may be used, but you must ensure compatibility with the LCD projector prior to the start of the session. Also bring a memory stick as a backup.
Overhead projectors will not be supplied except upon special request at least one month before the conference and at the speaker's expense.
